Instead of writing an entire article about why you should go on a safari in Tanzania, we could just provide links to photo galleries with images of the incredible landscapes and animals found throughout this stunning country. But here at Sababu Safaris, we have plenty to say about Tanzania that can’t be said with only videos and photography. Please watch the video above and prepare to be wowed by the beauty of this place, but to find out more about it, keep reading!
The Wonders of Tanzania
We’ve called this section ‘The Wonders of Tanzania’ but we could write and write on this topic forever and never run out of things to talk about it. Instead, we’d like to give you a few snap shots of some of the things that make Tanzania so special…
TANZANIA HAS THE GREATEST WILDLIFE IN AFRICA
Perhaps the main reason most people decide to go on a safari in Africa is to see the continent’s incredible wildlife. You can go on safaris in many countries around Africa, but Tanzania is widely considered the best, both in terms of the diverse range of animals and the sheer number of them. And it is home to the greatest migration of land mammals in the world! So many resources and so much care goes into sustaining and supporting our wildlife in Tanzania, both because it’s our duty to look after the indigenous fauna, but also because they’re our most valuable resource. You can look forward to seeing dozens of different species of animals on any of our Safaris in Tanzania, but here is a small list of the most popular ones:
Lion — Elephant — Leopard — Giraffe — Cheetah — Hippo — Rhino — Zebra — Wildebeest — Buffalo — Hyena
HIGHLY-SKILLED LOCAL GUIDES
As good as the wildlife in Tanzania is, it’s worth remembering that a safari is only successful when led by an extremely knowledgeable guide. The right guide, even in a place with sparse wildlife, will lead the safari to the perfect places at the perfect time, keeping guests safe along the way. We only work with guides who have 10+ years of experience and all of the guides here at Sababu Safaris are locals. In fact, unlike many safari companies throughout Africa, we are entirely locally based. Not only does this mean that our guests benefit from the expertise of our local guides, it also means that the lion’s share of all money spent on our tours will benefit the local people. As good as Tanzania is, your safari is only as good as your guide; that’s why our guides are our biggest investment. Just read our guests’ testimonials if you’d like to know more!
TANZANIA’S AMAZINGLY VARIED LANDSCAPES
Africa has some of the most varies landscapes of any continent — even though it is images of the savannah that tend to inspire and attract most visitors. Tanzania is a large country with a huge cross-section of landscapes. While South Africa’s largest biome is Savannah, Tanzania has a rich variety of savannah, river lands, rich forests, and mountains. There are simply far too many amazing places to list here, but we’d like to draw your attention to three particularly special Tanzania safari locations:
– The Ngorongoro Conservation Area has volcanic craters, forests, savannah, and bushland.
– The Serengeti National Park is the only place where you can see millions of wildebeest migrating over the acacia plans.
– Tarangire National Park is an incredible hidden gem, with the largest number of elephants in the entire country.
